Heavy Combat is one of the many activities in the SCA.
We at the Bitter End Shire are avid
Combatants. We meet twice a week, during the warmer months, to practice our combat abilities and hone our skills. We congregate,
as a Shire, at a lot of the events throughout Avacal, and in some cases, in other kingdoms as well.
Heavy
Combatants are required to wear armour and are armed with a variety of rattan weaponry. Rattan is used as a substitute for
actual weapons because we're in a hobby, not fighting for our lives (though it may seem that way when you're on the
battlefield.)
