What We're All About

The SCA

Greetings to all newcommers of Bitter End...and the SCA!!

Some general info for those interested in getting started in our group.

We are a regional branch of the SCA, an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating pre-17th century European, Middle Eastern, and Asian history.

Members of the society strive to recapture the ambiance of the Middle Ages through research into topics such as dress, weaponry, armour, jewlery, and any facet of life as it was lived. We then put our research into practice by constructing replica artifacts, practicing historical arts and crafts, learning to fight with sword and shield, etc.

The society also attempts to embody the ideals of the medieval romances; chivalry, courtesy and honour. This is re-creating the Middles Ages as they might have been, adding a note of consideration for others in an often too-indifferent world.

The SCA has been active in many areas for a number of years, and in someplaces, is just beginning!

We are also available to come out for educational seminars and demonstrations.
